Frank J. Crum always has a special heart for the Tampa Bay area. “There are so many things about this city that are accessible and great. We have the talent, we have the culture, we have great food,” said Crum.
Staying True with The Bay Area
As a Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Tampa, Crum works with residents to build relationships within their communities. And engage with local corporate and nonprofit organizations to provide opportunities for the citizens of Tampa. All while connecting certain participants with the Mayor’s Office and the City departments. Crum served as the City’s Digital Media Producer, focused on fair housing and human rights, and showcased Tampa’s art and culture. “We have art pieces, in all parts of the neighborhood,” Crum explained.
As the Co-Leader for the Mayor’s Staff Advisory Group for Employee Empowerment, the University of Florida Alumnus is also a board member for the City of Tampa Black History Committee, Incorporated. And Crum partnered with community leaders and organizations for an annual event during Black History Month called The Black Love Series at the Tampa Theater. It features some iconic love stories and includes diverse casts.
While uniting the Tampa communities, Crum will always stand by and staying true with the “813” (the additional area code is now 656). “So, this is a city of opportunity. But what I love about Tampa, over this 30 year period, yeah we’ve changed, we’ve grown, but we remained kind.”
Crum has won several awards in social service, civic, and community organizations. He also graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Business Administration. And is happily married to his wife and best friend, Sherelle Crum.
