As October is coming to an end, we cannot forget the importance of breast cancer awareness. Not only for women, but men as well. According to Susan Komen, there’s an estimated 281,550 new cases this year “among women in the U.S,” and an estimated of 2,650 cases for men in the U.S. Over time, mammogram screenings have helped decrease the rate of early-stages of breast cancer from the ’80’s and ’90’s until today.

According to Susan Komen, women have the chance to survive within a 5-year timeframe. People that are in breast cancer stages 1 or 2 are more likely to survive compared with someone in stage 3 with a 66%-98%  chance of survival. The average survival rate is based on the treatments, and how the person was diagnosed with breast cancer.

One of the many factors that cause women to be diagnosed with breast cancer is deodorant. Yes, the product you put under your arms in order not to smell terrible. Lol! According to National Cancer Institute, there is an aluminum-based ingredient that may cause the estrogen hormone to grow cancer cells. It is highly suggested to purchase organic deodorant products to keep your underarms healthy!

Helpful Tips!

Here are some tips to avoid the early stages of breast cancer:

1)  Always go to your annual check-up

2) Workout 3-5 days a week to prevent overweight and obesity

3)  Eat organic (healthy) foods

4) Learn your family’s health history

5) Buy organic deodorant! 🙂

We must help educate each other to avoid this disease and live a healthy, joyful life. And for the survivors, we applaud you… <3
